ZOMG? Is it true? Are we recording… a VIDEO episode?

After several purchases (and then several returns), and a couple of evil looks from the Future Shop and Best Buy customer service departments – I have managed to get a fully functional video capture system setup for my spare Xbox 360. It will only record in Standard Def, and won’t be hooked up to my primary gaming TV, so it’s not going to be recording everything.. BUT – it works, and it works fairly well.

Welcome to our first video commentary. Don’t forget you have the option to send in your own! There’s a chance that we publish them here for everyone to see

So I was talking to Ash about trying something new to get a little more content up in this bitch – and something that seems to quite fitting is recording some game matches, and throwing commentary on top of them. So thats just what we are going to try to do.

Everyone is invited to send us youtube/vimeo/etc links to videos of you playing a game, and doing a sort of commentary on top of it – any sort of commentary, from play-by-plays to random chitchat to asinine rants about god knows what. Fuck it, just do it and send it to us.

If you have the hardware/software to record the video feed directly, do that – otherwise just face a camcorder to your tv screen/monitor.

We might even (see: probably will) feature it on the site in our new “Game Commentary” section if its at least marginally better than a 2nd grader could do.

NOTE: This is probably the worst written blog post I have ever done.

So back in April I attended the Video Games Live concert in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was epic. During said concert, I recorded some footage with my iPhone. It is now online here. Included is footage of: Mega Man, Halo, Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, World of Warcraft, and Final Fantasy 7 music. Oh and that kid that plays Mario music on a piano blindfolded.

These shoes are AWESOME! Oh yea, heres the new episode. We tried something a bit different with the format, so there won’t be any show notes for this episode (yet) until I figure out how to make them for the less structured format.

We should sound slightly better now, with even less coughing! Although, half way through the episode my allergies starting going fucking crazy, so.. I dunno how that came through

Like James Franco here, even when doing something you love – you can fall asleep. We fell asleep for a few months. Yea, its a shitty metaphor – but deal with it.
